The Dubuque County supervisors drafted their own stay at home order

Saw this earlier

Dubuque County leaders are considering taking more aggressive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Monday, Governor Kim Reynolds did not issue a state-wide stay-at-home order. Now, Dubuque County Supervisors are exploring the possibility of a county-wide order.

The ordinance would enforce all Dubuque County residents to remain at home. Only essential employees and individuals running necessary tasks, such as grocery shopping, would be exempt.

Dubuque County Supervisor, Ann McDonough said the residents need to adhere to a clear message from their leaders.

I wrote the county supervisors and copied the county attorney to tell them that the order does not sufficiently explain what essential activities were. And that if they didn't include outdoor exercise - walking, running, biking, etc - while maintaining required social distancing in essential activities that we were going to have a legal fight in the near future. I do not have a problem with stay at home orders but that's how strongly I feel about people continuing to exercise in this time. And I sure as hell object to us county residents being used as a proxy in their fight with the governor.

The head supervisor wrote back to tell me that he also didn't think the order had enough detail and that the county attorney office sent a legal opinion saying the county did not have the authority to issue an order on their own. It has to come from the governor. Which leads back to my concern that whenever she gets off her ass and puts an order in place it will fuck over Iowans.

Sorry for so fucking much swearing lately.

Swearing doesn't ever bother me, and with her in office I encourage it to relieve stress. Would like your thoughts on her extending closure today 4/6/20 to BINGO PARLORS and BOWLING ALLEYS. I would have thought bowling alleys already closed, but especially BINGO PARLORS. For Christ's sake look at the population dynamics of average small town bingo parlor. LOTS OF LITTLE OLD LADIES! And kids I do mean OLD. What the Holy Hell, Mother Mary, Christ on a Bicycle leaving these OPEN for this long!................(any reference inferring connection between bingo parlors, and religion is well----intentional)

Bowling alleys are the grosses places. Especially the bowling balls, which are the most unsanitary things anywhere. And the rental shoes, Ick.

Kim Reynolds and her little cabal of “Don’t tread on me” advisors are going to cause peoples’ deaths.
