Iowa Gov. Reynolds: 'I can't lock the state down' (and get re-elected) over coronavirus concerns

As more leaders push Iowa to enforce stricter stay-at-home policies during the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Kim Reynolds remained firm that internal data doesn’t say the extra measure is necessary.

“I can’t lock the state down,” Reynolds said at Tuesday’s news conference about the public health crisis. “I can’t lock everybody at home.”

She echoed her previous requests that Iowans limit how often they go out, minimize their contact and keep their distance from others. She has already shut down bars and many retail establishments, limited gatherings to 10 people or fewer and asked businesses to let employees work from home when possible

3. Two thoughts on Reynolds keep rolling in my mind - 1) When the folks in Johnson County

who were on the Egyptian trip came back and tested positive there was much she could have done to slow the advance and she did nothing but try to happy talk it away.

2) What would Fred Hubbell. Based on what I remember his experience to be, I believe he would have acted quickly and decisively, saving Iowans a lot of grief.

Question - Who does Kimmy take her orders from? She surely seems to be getting direction from someone.

That's my concern is that she'll fuck it all up and leave farmers unable to do their fucking jobs and force businesses that are actually essential to close.
