WTF is wrong with Republicans in this state?

Just on CNN and saw a clip where they said that 67% of Iowa Republicans say they will DEFINITELY vote for Agent Orange.

I honestly can't even begin to understand what is wrong with these people.

I thought I'd read a poll somewhere that stated that 80% of all polled Republicans support Agent Orange and think he is doing a great job.

why they are afraid and none of them are able to give me any answer as to precisely HOW they suffered under Obama...they just say "he embarrassed us overseas".

It frustrates me so much that there are still so many hate-filled people around and that we all have to deal with them.

9. I grew up in a farm community in Illinois, it is the race thing, they are afraid of "the other".

The good news is farms in Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska are better educated than some in the southern states where we live now, there is hope. My father and grandfather were huge Democrats, but my dad could have some racist attitudes when my Mom wasn't around. She was the social justice warrior who inspired us to be the same.

I live in a state that would rather see Ted Cruz in the Senate than Beto O'Rourke? Seems folks here thought that "Beto" was some sly attempt to garner the Latino vote (it's an early childhood nickname that's quite common actually); so they tossed their vote to one Rafael "Ted" Cruz. Can't make this crap up. The mind reels . . .

the M$M and Republican Party has so instilled a hate and fear of Democrats in so many in this country they would literally vote for Putin or Satan than any Democrat, say maybe someone named Jesus Christ.

Consider what the Republican Party has done to farmers, small towns and small businesses over the years and you have to wonder what they are thinking. I guess when they are living in run down trailers they will still be voting Republican.

Why? Someone above summed it up: fear of the other. I have some very strong things I will not say at this point.

I grew up in Waukesha Wisconsin, which used to be a town filled with union workers, now it is a right wing hellscape.

Lived in Madison for 11 years. Would go back if we could.

Lived 9 years in Northern Illinois...that was OK too.

Iowa? Small town, we're not "from here", so it's hard sometimes. Also, I'm one of a very few liberals around here.

Although born, raised, and still living in Iowa, it's hard to "go home." Of the 42 in my class, most never left. But I did.

Graduate college, time abroad, travel throughout the US, and diverse social interactions have transformed me in such ways that I'm an alien in my own home town. I feel something of what POC or other minorities must feel when they pass through that place.

The primitive attitudes of people there, their inability to distinguish fact or reason from hyperbole or fiction, and their dogmatic, narrow-minded pragmatism and anti-intellectual disposition can be endured only in small doses.

But then, I'm just a latte-drinking liberal elitist.
