Former Clarion hotel manager who stiffed employees held liable
Some good news
The man accused of not paying employees at a former Cedar Rapids Clarion Hotel must now pay the owners more than $2 million dollars. Hassan Hussein worked as the Chief Operating Officer of the former Clarion Hotel last year.
Last December before Christmas, TV-9 reported on several workers saying the hotel didn't pay them. Workers ended up receiving back pay as part of a settlement with the US Department of Labor.
The hotel owners, the Kalra family sued Hussain and his family to get back their investment money they say Hussain misspent.
The Clarion is now known as the Ramada. Attorney Peter Riley represents the Kalra family, and says they couldn't use the name anymore.
I wonder if this former manager is a fornicate face supporter? Given his propensity not to pay employees sure sounds like it.
Yeah they probably won't see that money anytime soon, but it's good that this guy got taken to the legal woodshed. I have a real sore spot about employees not getting paid for their work.
