Iowa Women's Hall of Fame honorees chosen

The Iowa Commission on the Status of Women made their selections for the Iowa Women's Hall of Fame

Jane Boyd is one of the four honorees. Born in Tipton, she worked as a teacher in Minnesota and Iowa before doing social work exclusively in Cedar Rapids. The Jane Boyd organization now helps women and families improve their quality of life.

A second honoree, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst. The Red Oak native won the seat in November 2014 over four term Congressman Bruce Braley. She's the first woman elected to a federal office in Iowa in both the House and Senate.

Governor Kim Reynolds, who is from Osceola, is the third honoree. She's the first woman to serve as state governor. It comes after President Donald Trump nominated former Governor Terry Branstad to be the U.S. Ambassador to China.

The fourth honoree is Councilwoman Christine Hensley from Des Moines. The Hall of Fame will also award the Cristine Wilson Medal for Equality and Justice to Alicia Claypool of West Des Moines.

Looks like the ICSW didn't try nearly hard enough here.

As you can imagine to me Ernst and Reynolds are incredibly poor choices.

Ernst makes little secret of being the Koch puppet. Reynolds stood and watched and cheered as Branstad royally fucked up the state. May we hope both are sent packing next year.
