Miller-Meeks Doubles Down on Vote to Deny Critical Economic Relief to Iowans

Miller-Meeks once again shamefully says no to relief for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional district

Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks turned her back on Iowans who are struggling amid the ongoing pandemic by voting against the American Rescue Plan. And now she's doubling down on her misguided position which would have left Iowa families, workers, and small businesses behind.

When pressed by a constituent in Oskaloosa over the weekend, Miller-Meeks confirmed her opposition to the law which is helping keep families afloat by padding Iowans’ pocketbooks, helping children safely get back to school, speeding up vaccinations, and delivering at least $48 million directly to Iowa health centers to swiftly bring us out of this pandemic.

"The American Rescue Plan is delivering desperately needed economic relief to Iowans who are struggling to make ends meet. But if Mariannette Miller-Meeks had her way, Iowans would be left behind without the vital aid to carry us out of this pandemic,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Miller-Meeks’ confirmation that she’d still stand by party leaders instead of supporting relief for working families and small businesses shows just how out of touch she is with Iowa’s 2nd district.”

She won by six votes. She is likely the single most vulnerable representative in the USA in 2022. I know I will do my best to see that she goes back to Ottumwa.
