The 17-year-old son of a missing father in Indianapolis was arrested last weekend and accused of killing his own dad, stuffing the older man’s body into a trash can, and dumping it into a river. David Perry was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with one count of murder and one count of dangerous possession of a firearm in the alleged slaying of 35-year-old Brandon Perry, court records reviewed by Law&Crime show.

Brandon Perry is presumed dead as his body has not yet been located.

According to a news release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, detectives with the Missing Persons Unit on May 29 began investigating the whereabouts of Brandon Perry after his sister reported him missing. However, the investigation quickly shifted from a missing persons case to a likely murder case.

“As a result of information learned during the course of the investigation, IMPD Homicide Detectives took over the investigation,” police wrote in the release. “Based upon video surveillance, physical evidence, and multiple interviews, detectives believe Brandon Perry was killed by his son, David Perry.”
