If the COVID-19 numbers continue to trend upward, St. Clair County could be forced to regress to Phase 3 of the Governor's Restore Illinois Plan, which would last for 30 days or longer.
We were informed by the St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency of a recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases in St. Clair County. There has been a particularly high increase in the 20-29 age range. We strongly encourage everyone to follow the IDPH guidelines to regularly wash their hands, to wear a properly fitted face covering, and to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet.
We all need to do our part to ensure we continue to move forward and not backwards in the battle against COVID-19. We are all in this together.

Anti-maskers, the young, probably not very aware.

(13,417 posts)It's the farmers and small town MAGAts who all hate Pritzker driving this issue here.
The good(ISH) news is that by far the biggest employer in the county is Scott AFB and the base has been on point since March.
Without that Island of Sanity I shudder to think what we'd look like.
Mike Bost (Our Trumphuffing Rep) has been invisible. The Mayors are all over the board grading out from A through F, with a lot of Incompletes
The only elected official I regularly see adressing this issue is County Board Chairman Mark Kern.
Oddly enough, according to many of my neighbors, Mark is apparently in a sexual relationship with both Pritzker and Obama.
Although some localities are trying to keep a lid on things, a shit load of the corn towns around the county have been non-compliant from the get go.
I think it's the stupid that makes the corn grow tall 'round these parts
