I was caught up with Pritzker - as he started to campaign early and his ads were impressive. As the competition heated up and he began to take on the others - I began to see his true colors. He's finally getting challenged to the point that he has not answered the hard questions and is walking away from the press. It's become very evident that he's trying to buy his way into the Governorship.
With respect to Kennedy - I'm not exactly sure where he came from. I don't recall hearing much about Kennedy before this race. Again - wealthy and he sees and opportunity to buy his way into the Governorship.
The more and more I see and hear about Biss - the more I hear him talk - the more I'm liking him. I've made my decision - I'm going to vote for Biss because of all the candidates - he is more like me and more for people like me.

(31,421 posts)If he wins the primary, he will be touted by the repiggies as the "Bernie Sanders Candidate." And he is.
Our Revolution has a poor track records with wins. Their candidates lose. I consider Our Revolution a renegade organization.
We need to be looking at electability. If we don't, Rauner will buy the election again. Kennedy or JB are electable. Biss is not. I have met him, and I am not impressed.

(13,421 posts)For half of DU to decide.
About 25% will not vote for him because of that endorsement and the other 25% will vote for him because of that endorsement.
Personally, I'll vote for the Democratic Candidate come November even if it was Rahm Emmanual (God Forbid), but will vote for Pritzker on the 20th...
Neither of the other candidates have condescended to travel down to the 618 to campaign but JB has been here several times.
BTW, the "Screw Chicago" vibe is strong down here and that fuels a big chunk of the Trumpsters energy.
I'd sure like to see Democrats walking around down here in the corn now and again, instead of camping out in Chi-town and its suburbs.
Yes I know about population density and that Rural=Red Voter in the party HQ's thinking - But dammit show yourself out here at least.
We (Dems) can get votes if candidates would just show up and talk to us. Staying up north just fuels the "Dems don't care about regular folk" lies that the racist GOP keeps spreading out here...
Sorry, let me climb off this soapbox and settle down

(31,421 posts)local events. JB was doing that the earliest. He showed up for events in the 16th and 17th Districts. So did Kennedy. Once, when he had a conflict, he sent his son, who is very involved in their organization that feeds the hungry.
I saw Biss at a grassroots events a few months ago. He is smart, but I was skeptical.
I hate to be the kind of person who decides whom to vote for when I get into the voting booth. I have always tried to meet the candidates and to understand the issues. But I am torn between Kennedy and JB. I did promise a JB campaign worker that I would work for JB if he wins the primary. At this point, I like Kennedy. We have less than a week until the primary. I just need to get the people in my precinct out to vote. I will be making calls.

(13,421 posts)I believe he'll be in Marion this weekend.
Now to be fair to the other candidates, I have not googled their schedules and may have missed them. But Pritzker has been around down in farm country

(4,488 posts)I will vote with JB this time. We need electability. Four more years of Rauner destroying our state is a nightmare thought.
