Bibb County election officials offer explanation on record voting trends

Macon, Ga. (WGXA) – — WGXA previously reported that over 16,000 voters came out to the polls through the first weekend of early voting in Macon-Bibb County.

Tom Gillon, the office manager at the Bibb County Board of Elections, said that these new trends have surprised him.

"This is turning out to be a lot better," Gillon told WGXA. "We've been averaging over 3,000 voters a day, generally, between the three locations."

He explained how in past elections, more people voted closer to election day than in the first week of early voting.
