Georgia Walmart refuses to bake officer’s retirement cake

One Walmart is Georgia is drawing intense criticism after three of the employees refused to bake a cake for a police officer who was retiring, claiming racism.

The McDonough Walmart allegedly told the police officer’s daughter that they were unwilling to design the cake for the officer who served the community for 25 years. The daughter had shown an image of the police flag, but she says the bakers told her none of them felt comfortable making the design on the cake.

Reportedly, the woman then asked if a chocolate cake with a blue line across the middle could be done instead, a notion the bakers denied again.

She told media pundit Todd Starnes. “I didn’t know what to do or say or anything. I was trying not to lose my temper or make a scene.” The woman ultimately left the store to find another bakery.

along with actually having a spring, something coastal New England missed most years.

I left about the same time you did. Not going back.

We did a small move 4 years ago. From one end of the Catskills to a bit south.

Spring was my favorite season and now it's too damn short.

Winter and the Fourth of July. In Vermont, they call them winter and 3 months of bad skiing.

NM is weird because of the altitude. Some years we get 4 clearly defined seasons, although we can get measurable snow through the first 2 weeks of May. Other years, Mother Nature seems to throw a switch and we go from the low 50s to the mid 90s practically overnight.
