Governor Deal promises 20 percent pay raise to Georgia law enforcement officers

Governor Nathan Deal said Thursday that a package of law enforcement reforms includes a 20 percent pay raise for more than 3,300 state law enforcement officers and an additional overhaul in training and certification programs.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal says a package of law enforcement reforms includes a 20 percent pay raise for more than 3,300 state law enforcement officers and an overhaul in training and certification programs.

Deal says that the 20 percent pay raise will be effective Jan. 1.

In a press release, Deal explained that the demands of protection Georgia citizens have changed and grown, which requires better pay and better training.
