I'm watching the election results.
50% of Dems voted
65% of Reps voted
Had the Dems turnout been 70% they would have won.
The last I saw there were 714,000 D mail ballots not returned.

(2,268 posts)at all we wouldve won this election, 2018, 2014 and several others. We havent won a gubernatorial race since 1994. Do the math on how long. We havent held the legislature since 1998. We dont win presidential elections save for Obama who was a generational candidate. We dont win senate seats anymore.
The leadership of the FL Dems is made of grifters who dont want to win and Washington consultants who dont know the state.
Ive tried volunteering and I know one state rep personally, but the party in Florida is so lame!
Weve run milk toast moderates like Crist. Weve won progressives like Gillum. Weve lost.
Utah, Alabama, and Kansas have more effective state parties. I hope leadership of the Florida Dems is reading this because we need a house cleaning. Just look at the win/loss records and youll see Im objectively pointing out true facts.

(8,192 posts)In recent years, at least, Republican turnout always exceeds Democratic turnout, so it is expected. What is not expected is a 15 point difference. In 2020, the difference was less than 6%.
Since I have been involved (10 years), messaging has been the province of the candidates and turnout has been the job of the local county parties. Our county party raised enough money to be able to send out a slate card/voting reminder to all registered Democrats. We also had a series of GOTV phone banks to help drive turnout. Our county's turnout was more than 11 points higher than the state average. We still finished 11 points behind the Republicans in our county.
IMHO, Florida Democratic voters are demoralized and that needs to be addressed.
