Thousands of people from around the United States are rallying in Washington D.C. Saturday for womens reproductive rights and other causes they believe are under threat from the incoming Trump administration, reprising the original Womens March days before the President-elects second inauguration.
What to know:
Rally schedule: Participants in Washington are scheduled to march to the Lincoln Memorial for a rally at 1 p.m. EST. The march is expected to be about one-tenth the size of the 2017 one as many progressive voters navigate feelings of exhaustion, disappointment and despair.
Trump to arrive in Washington: The President-elect is expected to leave his Florida home Saturday to head to Washington. Trumps advisers have not detailed how he will spend the first part of the day, and the only public event on Trumps schedule is an evening reception and fireworks show at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.
Other inauguration events: On Sunday, the eve of his inauguration, Trump is scheduled to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery before heading to a rally at Capital One Arena in Washington. The rally will be followed by a private dinner.
