Voters could decide the future of recreational marijuana in Colorado Springs this fall

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - You could soon decide the fate of recreational marijuana sales here in Colorado Springs. Dueling initiatives you could see on the November ballot could answer that question once and for all.

One, proposed by citizens, would legalize recreational sales here in the city. The other, proposed by city leaders, would not only ban recreational sales but would keep it from reappearing on the ballot ever again.

Colorado Springs City Council Vice President Pro Tem Lynette Crow Iverson says the ballot initiative she put forward is intended to give a final answer to whether or not there will be recreational marijuana here in the Springs.

“This will just take care of that. The citizens of Colorado Springs have already spoken,” Crow-Iverson said.
