Butte County sees steady mail-in ballot returns ahead of election

BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. — With less than two weeks away from election day, mail-in ballots are trickling in.

In Butte County — elections officials said as of Oct. 25, they’ve received more than 27,500 ballots so far.

That number is a bit lower than what the county saw for the 2020 presidential election around this time, but County Clerk-Recorder Keaton Denlay said to not read into it too much.

"The general election of 2020 was the largest turnout of all time, so if you compare anything to that it will seem low or like a disappointment but we are seeing healthy returns so far," he said.

I sent in my ballot on Wednesday via the post, and I got a text message today from the County Clerk letting me know they had received and counted it!
