Powell-Hyde Cable Car 4 @ Hyde Street Cable Car Turnaround San Francisco California

I used to work near by this place, at an art gallery. I bet I have ridden cable cars more times than i can count, footage is not mine but i appreciate the views.

hired to run it. He got in the front of it, looked down over the cliff and immediately walked off the job.

When my brother and his wife came to visit we rode the California line out of downtown, walked the rest of the way to pacific heights where I lived.

the first time I rode a cable car it cost ten cents. If you hung on to the outside it was free. This was in 1961. A lot of people depended on them for actual public transportation and getting back and forth to work. Now, it's mostly tourists.

I never lived in San Francisco but I lived in the south bay and various places on the peninsula for 30 years. I always love your videos of the city. They bring back nothing but good memories.
