Chesa Boudin announces felony charges for nine suspects in San Francisco Union Square robbery

After a mass smash-and-grab robbery at a Louis Vuitton and other luxury shops throughout San Francisco’s Union Square made national headlines, San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin announced felony charges for nine individuals allegedly involved in these thefts.

“These are not petty thefts,” Boudin said in a Tuesday afternoon press conference. “This is not misdemeanor conduct. This is felony conduct.”

Of the dozens seen at Louis Vuitton and other retailers on Friday night, the nine individuals arrested by San Francisco police and charged by the District Attorney’s Office are between the ages of 23 to 53. They are largely based in San Francisco and the broader Bay Area, with the exception of one man from Georgia, according to a list provided by San Francisco police.

“We do not tolerate that kind of behavior in our city,” Boudin added.

District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safai promised “more charges and arrests to come” in the presser.

8 or 10 women would invade a store. As I recall, they were wearing burka like garments with large pockets. I don't recall any being caught.

Maybe move on to a Wal-Mart or Dollar store? With this Covid-19 inflation, it might soon be worth it.

He can stop dismissing the cases of 87% of those brought in on domestic violence charges. This man is a friend to violent abusers of women and a danger to San Fransisco.
