(27,247 posts)Nobody seems to like Womack as a Congressman, although some of them thought he was a decent mayor.

(27 posts)The Aden campaign has started door to door operations in Benton County. A small group of volunteers have been going door to door in a small town in Benton County. From the response so far, Womack is in serious trouble with voters. We explain who we are campaigning for and they gladly take the literature we offer. Comments such as: 'It's about time,' 'He's got my vote,' etc...
Saturday before last, Aden was working across the street from me... I knocked on the door and a lady in her 60's answers the door... I explained the purpose of my visit, she immediately took the info and I said, "Would you like to meet Mr. Aden? He's right across the street." She replies, "Sure!" She invited the three of us into the house and Aden spent over 30 minutes talking to her, getting an earful about the problems she faces and the disconnect she feels is prevalent among elected officials.
Later on that morning, we stopped in at the local Volunteer Fire Dept where several volunteer firemen and an off duty police officer were working on equipment... Aden spent an hour touring the station, talking to the volunteers and getting another earful from the Fire Chief about rural fire department issues.
Womack yells at people... Aden keeps his mouth shut and listens to what they have to say... and, believe you me, it's plenty!

(27,247 posts)then Aden stands a good chance of ending the Republicans' 46-year stranglehold on the 3rd district.
I really thought that Mike Hathorn stood a good chance of ending that dynasty back during the 2001 special election, but then all that 9-11 crap happened and that seemed to knock the Hathorn campaign off its tracks.
