An explosion in El Dorado left three dead Monday afternoon.
According to Arkansas Department of Emergency Management spokesman Chad Stover, a group of workers from the Long Brothers Oil Company were taking apart a tank battery at an abandoned oil well when something caused oil vapors inside the tank to ignite, explode and kill all three workers.
Long Brothers Oil Company is based out of Norphlet. Stover said there were no other injuries. Officials aren't sure what ignited the vapors. The workers' names have not yet been released.
The oil field was located near Mt. Holly Road and State Highway 335.
