I’ve watched the whole series. It’s awesome. Didn’t care that much for the recent reunion movie, but the series is just wonderful.

But there were times when the character was so over-the-top prudish or squeamish that it seemed the writers forgot Monk was a seasoned homicide detective before his wife's death worsened his OCD. He sometimes seemed like a complete stranger to police work.

And man! Melora Hardin as the ghost of his wife?

Wonderful show, but some things like prudishness, squeamishness, and CHEAPNESS got exaggerated over the years, past the point of being funny/quirky.

Didn't start watching until about season 3 or 4. Once I finally broke down and watched an episode, I was hooked. Tony Shaloub was incredible as Monk. He took a character who by his very nature was incredibly annoying and made you love him and root for him. Totally deserved the multiple emmys he received for playing the role. The supporting cast was fantastic as well

Watch episodes over and over! And every time I get the gas pump to stop exactly on the dollar, I say to myself “the Monk in me is happy”.
