(10,002 posts)It removes the TV audience from the joke and makes it seem "inside". I think they should sanitize the set and let his material stand or fail on it's own. When the time comes for live audiences again, let them react as they like.

(10,002 posts)IMO, I don't think it's appropriate or professional to have unidentified noises or sounds, wherever they come from, regularly contaminate a set. Yeah, the TV audience thinks it's his family giggling but they don't really know. Right now the only audience he has is his TV audience and anything that disrupts that connection between the two is....disruptive.

I hate the laugh when you make an unfunny mistake that ruins the skit stuff!
But humor is personal.
