Trump Is Bumping Your Favorite Shows on Tuesday
If you were looking forward to watching the newest episode of black-ish or The Gifted on Tuesday evening, you'll have to figure out something else to watch instead. President Donald Trump will be addressing the nation to discuss what he calls a "humanitarian and national security crisis," therefore bumping all your favorite shows from the 9 p.m. hour on the four main broadcast networks — ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. Additionally, Fox News, Fox Business, MSNBC and CNN will also carry the prime-time address.
CBS was the first broadcast network to say it would carry the President's speech from the Oval Office; networks are not required to grant to a president's request for airtime.
In addition to black-ish and The Gifted, Trump's speech will also bump new episodes of FBI, Splitting Up Together and Ellen's Game of Games.
Trump announced his speech in a tweet Monday morning, writing, "I am pleased to inform you that I will Address the Nation on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border. Tuesday night at 9:00 P.M. Eastern." It's expected that Trump will made good on his threat to declare a state of emergency so he can build a wall on the country's southern border. We're currently entering the third week of a government shutdown.
