Such eye pleasing composition. The blue buds look like jewels.

4. Those flowers are the perfect shade of blue to set off the bee's golden tones.

I think the last one with the 2 bees is my favorite, but I love them all.

P.S. I can't look at this color combo without being reminded of the Ukrainian flag. Slava Ukraini!

11. Ha! Indeed it was, Mr. Allan! These bees weren't sitting pretty for their portraits! ;-)

I had to use a fast shutter speed (1/1250s) and continuous shooting to keep up with their flitting from blossom to blossom.

Thanks!

The honeybees and bumblebees buzzed around me harmlessly. I can't remember the last time I was stung by a honeybee--probably when I was a young child--and I've never been stung by a bumblebee. Yellowjackets are another matter--I've been stung and chased after stepping on the entrance to their underground nests while mowing. They are among the most aggressive of wasps and their sting is excruciating. Luckily, there were no yellowjackets buzzing about.
