(25,815 posts)All moved then? How are you liking it?
George McGovern
(7,959 posts)Which is alright. We're here, that's the main thing.
We are liking it overall. We are on the outskirts of a small town, just a two-minute drive into town. We're part of a small neighborhood and located about 1/2 mile from a highway that travels north–south through Washington. We hear, from time to time, cars, trucks (mainly during rush hours), motorcycles and ambulances. And fixed wing airplanes from the local airport.
To compare, back in Ellensburg, we were 20 minutes from town. It was so quiet that once, I'll never forget, a flight of geese flew fairly low overhead and I could hear the sound of their wings pushing/pulling air. The rest of the time all we heard was a few cars and during hay bailing season the tractors and other associated vehicles.
Everything that surrounds us here, nonetheless, is not a concern at all, despite the different atmosphere. From our perspective Laurie and I are the newcomers, entering a community established long before we got here. We indeed are pleased to be here. It's up to us to fit in as we like, not the other way around. Already neighbors passing by have slowed and waved, stopped and talked. Friendly.
I mean, Laurie has her two horses, Shadow her Jolly Ball, KC his cat tree and
I my internet. What more could one ask?
Thank You!

(7,959 posts)He has found his way out of the house only twice, and was close by when we noticed. He came right back in. He invests his time sleeping, walking around the house exploring, sniffing, he has several resting spots, more than once I've been in taking a nap and found him alongside me purring.
Thanks Lois!

It's been a long time since a photo really moved me like this, but that picture represents so many possibilities in tale. From a dogs perspective to ours.
It's a really beautiful, powerful photo George McGovern.
Thank you
