1. I'm in, with a photo I took last Christmas when we were all together!

It's almost a formal portrait, but you can see from everyone's expression how much fun we were having! We don't get together very often, but when we do? It's great.

5. I visited my cousin who lives in Lancaster, PA

The heart of Amish country. They're a private people who don't like being photographed. So I did the next best thing. It was laundry day for this family and I took a photo of their dresses hanging on the line to dry. So colorful!

I actually did sneak a photo of a young Amish girl at the farmer's market. She was keeping track of her sales at an auction on an iPad! I thought that was pretty funny since they're so anti-technology including the use of electricity!

10. I'm in with "My Welcoming City" (Lancaster City, PA)

Lancaster is a Certified Welcoming City, the first city in the state to be designated as such by the national nonprofit organization Welcoming America. Welcoming cities and counties have policies and programs that encourage the welcoming and inclusion of refugees and immigrants. The city has been welcoming immigrants for nearly 300 years and we now have residents that come from countries all over the planet.

The photo was taken during a Celebrate Lancaster festival last summer.

11. I'm in

with a photo of my neighborhood of 93 homes which all participate in displaying Luminarias one night during the Holiday season as a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. For those who might not be familiar with it, Ronald McDonald Houses are built to provide a place for families to stay when their children are undergoing long term treatment of illness at Children's Hospitals.
It is quite a sight to walk around our community and see the lights in front of every house in the development and along the common areas as well. This past year our participation raised several thousand dollars for the Ronald McDonald House.

12. Would love to visit when they're lit, sitting in snow.

13. That could be a long wait

since we're in Durham, NC. We occasionally have snow, every 3-4 years. But it's more likely to occur in January.

Come anyway. It's a very peaceful evening, walking through the neighborhood. It made me wish I had a drone to put up for an aerial shot.
