Today there's a new venue for the Manhattan Beach Farmer's Market!

An old parking garage is being torn down and since it's near our former marketplace, it was decided to move the market to this new venue! Much larger, with more space for each vendor and lots of room for the happy customers! (me included!)

Hope you enjoy!

When I saw the backlit jars of honey, I knew I had to get those! Backlit is one of my big favs. The figs are top with me as well.

It's really nice--a lot more spread out with more room for everybody.

I wanted to see how close I could get to the marigolds! (I'm thinking I want a macro lens!) And those flowers (the ones that look like they've got stitches?) So beautiful!

Though I only have what's in my clunky point/shoot. It's a decent lens. I have a technique that I'm sure you'll appreciate, I'll put the glass right up against the subject and back off from there. I want to see the pollen grains, dangit.

Andy had a 60 mm macro lens and I've been eying it on a website. I have to think about how much use I'd get out of it and then I pause.

Someday, maybe . . .

You'll use it far more than you think, like at the farmer's market because all those closer closeups you imagine but can't reach... you might never go back!

When Ilook for a camera, anymore, I check to see the macro capabilities first.

What you're telling me are things I've said to myself. And around the house, any budding plant isn't safe from this lens!

I"m still thinking about it.

Boxes of blue? The berries? Not sure what you mean.

Glad you enjoyed. I did wonder if you were going to leave a comment! Glad you did.

Thanks, Peggy! I was at my market in Maine today for the best feta in the world, and picked up a giant (6.5 lb) cabbage, deciding there and then to try again to make sauerkraut. It’s in my gorgeous fermenting jar right now. I love going to the farmers market!

I just got done with dinner and that kept me from answering you sooner. Mea culpa!

It's a very expansive venue. Lots of room for everyone, vendors, shoppers and all of us.

It definitely is a win!

And you know how I feel about sharing.
