Wikipedia says Leucospermum a.k.a. Protea family.

South African. Stunning flowers (I love photographing flowers. Started doing so over 50 years ago.)

Presidio is a fabulous place.

You never know what you'll find there!

Hope the visit relieved your high anxiety. (the take-off of Vertigo)

I offered to take my daughter on a movie tour of San Francisco, but she is not an old movie fan.

I am!

Hope you had a great time.

that is where they were. We were killing some time before dinner. THe light was good and the flowers pretty.
I had to trust my autofocus since my cataracts gave me fits focusing close. They have been fixed now so I will see how they work.

Lots of movies shot in SF. And a couple of TV shows.

I am so nearsighted that I use the viewfinder with glasses and take the glasses off to use the flat panel.

My old Coolpix had a terrible viewfinder ( new ones are great) so I had to use the flat panel in the bright sun. Chasing hummingbirds feeding on wildflowers. Ouch. The autofocus was my rescue.

I was working in SF when Nash Bridges blew something up in an excavation. On purpose.
