I spent over week on the Texas coast, and saw many kingfishers (including this one several times), but this is the only photo I got with a kingfisher in it .. and this was accidental. Kingfishers cover relatively small territories, but they are extremely elusive. Due to time and equipment constraints, I couldn’t really do the sit-and-wait necessary to photograph these wonderful birds. Next time!

Managed to get them flying, but not printable. Every time I would get close, off they went.
I have an Audubon friend, who shames me. He has the patience and gear.
