the bubble is the result of gas being blown the the stellar wind of a very hot massive star. its about 8000 light years away
shot last night in my backyard over a 4 hour time frame (40 6 minute exposures stacked together)

im in the first suburb north of town. i have a lot of light pollution but there are ways to minimize it somewhat especially for emission nebulas like this

How can this survive? I think of bubbles as fragile objects, easily popped.
