just above a five leaf branch so new roses would pop up. Love that smell. He didn't have luck over the winter.. He'd wrap them (or whatever you are supposed to do) and come spring the bushes, most of them, would be dead. So off he's go and buy more to plant. It meant that the colors kept changing from year to year.
