David Gilmour's legendary 'Black Strat' comes to auction

David Gilmour is making 120 guitars available in an upcoming auction. All proceeds to charity. The list of guitars so far is stunning. So much wonderful history.

My only hope (probably not likely) is that they are purchased by someone who will play them, not merely hang them on a wall to note how cool they think are.

You do have to wonder. If you paid 10x or more the value of it because it was owned by Gilmour, it would be hard to justify too much wear on it.

Geddy Lee did get to play Entwistle's Frankenstein.

Hard Rock Cafe bought some of Entwistle's basses.
