Always reminded me of a 70's Elton John song. Lyrics have a few cringe-worthy lines which kinda sucks because most of 'em are pretty brilliant ... he should've stuck with vague themes, this could've been a REAL timeless classic, but he had to go and date it ...
This whole album (called ... the same as this song), btw, is pretty f***ing good. If anyone's never heard it, and like this song ... you should hear the whole record. Probably recognize a few of the songs, and there's scarcely a duff track on the whole record. First four songs particular are kick-ass, but they're all pretty solid. Producer Brendan O' Brien was producing TONS of great music circa 2000, man.
The languid closer 'Mississippi' is a particular fave of mine. This is fan video, not an official 'train' vid (and it's not especially worth watching, apparently scenes from some obscure German flick), but the sound quality is great ... and this song RULES ... do yourself a fave and crank it, esp. if you don't know it and ignore the random vid unless it interests you.

(7,725 posts)From the same CD. Just love the guitar and bass . Such a stretchy bass line. Best song on the cd I think. You're oh so right about the cd. I play the whole thing and rarely skip a song. Great choice! TY.

(33,643 posts)The discs before and after are pretty damn good too ... the debut Train and My Private Nation ... though the latter is when they started breaking from the 'train sound' I really liked on their first two records, still has a lotta great songs ...
