It's a great driving song. Radar Love usually gets the attention as a driving song, but this one is perfect, highplainsdem Thursday #3

This nearly wasn't a Golden Earring song. The band was close to breaking up in the early '80s, and highplainsdem Thursday #7

Song comes on, my thumb reflexively goes to that button on the steering wheel that turns up the volume.
I also am glad I use cruise control when that song comes on. Otherwise I'd look down and realize I'm doing 80.

...it wasn't until this video that was aware that the lead vocal is shared.

lead guitarist George Kooymans wrote this song (Barry Hay didn't write any of the lyrics, as he often wrote lyrics for their songs starting in the early '70s, before which George had written most of their songs by himself). George had planned to use this for a solo album, and then they were talked into doing one more Golden Earring album, and George included "Twilight Zone" and it became a huge international hit.

Not the only hit where they traded lead vocals. The song below was a top 10 hit in Europe, from a 1989 album that was also a top 10 hit there but was never released in the States. This performance was from their 1993 concert for more than 100,000 fans on the beach near The Hague.
