I had no idea. One of the all time best groups ever. I listened to 12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus way back at Virgin with Bono was was spending time in NYC. He loved it, but had never heard it or of the group. Chris Blackwell. Wow, right?

4. A Few Cool Things There

First, I liked ut in that slightly slower tempo. It forms a cool groove.
Second, it's pretty tight considering there's about 20 people on stage. 2 drummers, 5 guitars, bass, piano, other keys 2 percussionists, and about a half-dozen singers! Good thing it was a big stage.
Third, the vocals are better than the original. Even the lead vocal.
Finally, I see some special guests like Jeff Baxter up there.
Pretty cool.

There was a guitar player there that looked really familiar, but I couldn't place him.
It was Howard Leese!
I recognized Neal Doughty, just didn't mention him.
I probably should have recognized the guys from Jo Jo Gunne too, but I didn't.
Thanks.

9. Spirit was a favorite in high school and I was in right time at right place.

Saw Spirit twice at Fillmore West in 69 and 70, first time 2nd billed and the other as headliner.

Saw Spirit 2nd billed to Ike and Tina Review on Halloween 1970 at Winterland.

With John and Griff and chemical amusement aids and way too much dayglo paint. We were flat sitting that weekend at Griff's sister/BIL flat on Union Street. They had a white bulldog that was their baby. He was a happy dayglo dog when they got home the next day. That as how burned off energy after the show. John came from Oklahoma to visit June 2025. John was with me at the two Fillmore West shows.

In September 1994, was paid to look at a piece of timberland in northern Trinity County near Humboldt. There was a Humboldt newspaper available at a small, lonely store. Spirit was playing at a beer bar on 4th Street in Eureka. Convinced the guy we had to go see the show. Cassidy (Randy's stepfather) and California were the two members of original band. Approached Randy California after the show to shake his hand and tell him how big a fan I had been in high school and still played the albums. He basically blew me off but that was OK. Bought the Tent of Miracles CD they were selling at the show.
