Music Appreciation
Related: About this forumI have several Remo brand frame drums from 12 to 16 inches in diameter. You just hold them in front of yourself or
rest them upright on one edge on your lap. I can get a good variety of sounds and play them using my hands, fingers or a wooden mallet with a soft foam head. I have a solid wood mallet and others for getting different sounds. I find these drums to be a lot of fun to play and play them by themselves or accompany streaming music from jazz to folk to whatever. Just wanted to rec these type of instruments if you might want something different to play. They are generally inexpensive $100 or less depending on the size, type of wood rim and head covering...there are also folks who gather in "drum circles" to play together, it just depends on where you live...I recommend this activity....

They were popular with drummers in the 70s.
