(68,412 posts)Sheer luck got us 6th row center seats. With the orchestra pit, we were 25' from Mark all night.
I greatly preferred their earlier stuff.
After Mark bought a distortion unit, I kind of lost interest.

(13,574 posts)It doesn't get any better.
The sounds Mark can get from his guitars are otherworldly.
The Alchemy live album is a MASTERPIECE !!!
I love Mark and I am in awe of his many talents.
He truly is a gift to this world.

(14,972 posts)I was designated driver for a buddy because I didn't drink, and he'd always buy my ticket. We were meeting a few other buddies at adjacent Moscow, ID and I'd drive us all to the show and back.
The buddy with the car is now a retired Microsoft millionaire. Then he was driving an old beater Dodge Dart with worn out shocks. Two of these guys took acid and everyone but me is drunk. We're going down the Moscow/Pullman highway and Bohemian Rhapsody comes on and I've got Waynes World going on in the car now! LOL
Fuckin' old boat is just bouncing down the road and I'm sure we're gonna get pulled over but we made it.
I have the Dire Straits Remember That Night DVD. It's the same show I saw but at Wembly Stadium. Knopfler is off that night I'm afraid. I had everything they'd put out including the live album when I saw them. He seemed like he was worn out or fucked up at Wembly. I would have noticed that at Pullman for sure. We got a lot better performance.
