David Gilmour crashed his daughter Romany's pub gig Monday night, his first live gig in 4 years

NME article with David's tweet from that evening, with a brief video. Watch the video in the article. I'll post the tweet separately below this excerpt, but for some reason when I view the tweet sepately, the video clip has glitchy sound, though the sound's fine viewed on NME's website. And I just discovered the sound in Gilmour's tweet is fine viewed on DU as well...but as soon as I go to Twitter to watch the clip there, the sound breaks up every few seconds.

David Gilmour performed his first live gig in four years at an East Sussex pub’s open mic night yesterday (September 9) – check out footage below.

The musician’s last public gig was the 2020 tribute concert for Fleetwood Mac co-founder Peter Green at the London Palladium, according to concert archives.

Gilmour posted to X last night that he “very much enjoyed crashing” his daughter’s gig at the pub “after finishing tour rehearsals”.

In an accompanying video, Romany Gilmour can be heard asked her dad if he wants to “come and upstage me”, before they performed Pink Floyd’s 1975 track ‘Wish You Were Here’ together.

Here's David's tweet:

And the tweet from Rock History, which does get the day this happened wrong. It was Monday, the 9th. The pub has open-mic Mondays. But this tweet mentions a bit more of Romany and David's exchange, which is also mentioned - along with much more on Romany's gig that night and on David's new album and tour plans - in the Guitar World article at https://www.guitarworld.com/news/david-gilmour-joins-daughter-romany-at-british-pub .

Given the song they chose, too bad Dave didn't bring his 12 string.
Wish they had the whole tune on video. That would be super cool.
