Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of a young boy out to foil pirates and find a buried treasure.
Dir: Victor Fleming Cast: Wallace Beery, Jackie Cooper, Lionel Barrymore
Runtime: 102 mins Genre: Adventure Rating: TV-G CC: Y

Trivia: Jackie Cooper did not like his performance, writing in his autobiography that he felt an older English boy should have played Jim Hawkins.

Trivia: MGM boss Louis B. Mayer insisted on a happy ending, so there had to be a re-shoot. Wallace Beery so resented this that he sabotaged the extra work by blowing his lines, staying in his dressing room for hours or taking long breaks. As a result, what was scheduled as a one day shoot took four days.

Three western girls make unhappy marriages at the turn of the century.
Dir: Anatole Litvak Cast: Errol Flynn, Bette Davis, Anita Louise
Runtime: 98 mins Genre: Drama Rating: TV-PG CC: Y

Trivia: Originally the film credits were to read "Errol Flynn in The Sisters," but Bette Davis demanded equal billing alongside Errol Flynn. She also pointed out that the original credits had an unwelcome sexual connotation.

9:15 AM Edge of Darkness (1943)

&pp=ygUYZWRnZSBvZiBkYXJrbmVzcyB0cmFpbGVy

Resistance fighters battle the Nazis in occupied Norway.
Dir: Lewis Milestone Cast: Errol Flynn, Ann Sheridan, Walter Huston
Runtime: 119 mins Genre: War Rating: TV-PG CC: Y

Trivia: According to the book "The Films of World War II" by Joe Morella, Edward Z. Epstein and John Griggs, the production was beset by many problems. The book states, "Ann Sheridan parted from husband George Brent; Errol Flynn was indicted for rape; location shooting in a small California town was delayed several weeks because of fog, during which Ruth Gordon and Judith Anderson were besieged with telegrams from Katharine Cornell demanding their return to New York for her stage production of 'The Three Sisters'. Miss Gordon was restrained from leaving, but not before letting it be known that she hated Hollywood and the picture. Fortunately for Warners, the fog lifted, Flynn was acquitted, and the film was completed."

11:30 AM Kim (1951)

&pp=ygUMa2ltIHRyYWlsZXIg

Rudyard Kipling's classic tale of an orphaned boy who helps the British Army against Indian rebels.
Dir: Victor Saville Cast: Errol Flynn, Dean Stockwell, Paul Lukas
Runtime: 113 mins Genre: Adventure Rating: TV-PG CC: Y

Trivia: Errol Flynn was initially excited about going to India, and turned down the studio's offer of the lead in King Solomon's Mines (1950) (which ultimately went to Stewart Granger). However, all of Flynn's scenes in this film were shot in the studio and matched in the editing room with long-shot second-unit footage of his double.

3:30 PM San Antonio (1945)

&pp=ygUfc2FuIGFudG9uaW8gZXJyb2wgZmx5bm4gdHJhaWxlcg%3D%3D

Oscar nominations:

MUSIC (Song) -- "Some Sunday Morning," Music by Ray Heindorf and M. K. Jerome; Lyrics by Ted Koehler

Trivia: Bozic in the film twice refers to riderless horses as "empty horses". This is likely to be a reference to director Michael Curtiz, with whom Errol Flynn had worked on The Charge of the Light Brigade (1936) (and whom Flynn detested). When wanting to see stray horses wandering through the battle, Curtiz directed the wranglers to "bring on the empty horses." After David Niven and Flynn cracked up laughing, Curtiz responded with, 'You people, you think I know fuck nothing; I tell you: I know fuck all". Niven later made this "Curtizism" immortal by titling his autobiography "Bring On the Empty Horses".

Trivia: Bette Davis had originally wanted Laurence Olivier for the role of Lord Essex, claiming that Errol Flynn could not speak blank verse well. She remained extremely upset about this through the entire filming, and Flynn and Davis never worked again together in a film. According to Olivia de Havilland, she and Davis screened the film again a short while before Davis suffered four strokes in 1983. At film's end, Davis turned to de Havilland and declared that she had been wrong about Flynn, and that he had given a fine performance as Essex.

Trivia: During one fight sequence, Errol Flynn was jabbed by an actor who was using an unprotected sword--he asked him why he didn't have a guard on the point. The other player apologized and explained that director Michael Curtiz had instructed him to remove the safety feature in order to make the action "more exciting". Flynn reportedly climbed up a gantry where Curtiz was standing next to the camera, took him by the throat and asked him if he found that "exciting enough".
