(53,410 posts)I love, love, love all the fantastic photographs of space! You picked wonderfully intense and strong colors and painted it as if it were a red dragon breathing fire and smoke, which makes my kid mind think of magic places full of wonder.
Im a sci fi fan and really like depictions of space as a place full of movement and exploding energy and the making of stars and planets and Milky Ways. Its fantastical and compelling. I like your painting! Did you use your normal canvas size? It would also work very well on a large canvas. A very large canvas. Space is Big! And wild! And damn impressive!

(23,889 posts)I normally paint 9 x 12 to 12 x 16. But I thought the subject warranted a larger canvas so I painted it on a 16 x 20 canvas. It could have been larger but I didn't want it to overwhelm the room!
It's amazing the quality and quantity of great photos NASA has given the world. I may just start a whole series of space paintings! That series could go on forever, just like our amazing universe.

(53,410 posts)as if I was in a space station looking down at so it included the curvature of the planet. I did it on a large canvas, 4 x 6. It came out really well. One of my sons friends fell completely in love with it so I gave it to him.
Space and planet paintings are fun to do and display. I imagine the Space-X interplanetary hotels for all those future tourists will feature great views of whatever planet theyre orbiting. Maybe images of them are already in Elon Musks head! I imagine they are!
