You really did justice to that amazing photograph of Richard Avendon. I think your etching may be more interesting than the photo. I wish I could see it better so I could really study it close up. I feel that it’s probably breathtaking.

It has a gilded quality to it, like it was created during the Renaissance. The portrait is quite intriguing in that it immediately grabs your attention because of the theatrical pose. Obviously he understood photographic posing done for an effect other than just catching a likeness. You did a great job choosing your subject and improving on it. I think Avendon would enjoy and admire your work. It’s really good.

I enjoy the ways artists interpret the world and ‘reality’ in their own creative ways. Everyone is unique and artwork should be really looked at and appreciated without pre-conceived bias. I love what I get from it. I assume that if people post their art then they will appreciate it if it is studied a bit. I really like saying what I see and why I like it.
