And most of these tools also steal anything you do with them. Especially if you're using free or low-cost versions.

What they generate is not real art, but a mimicry of it enabled by that theft.

Which is why these tech companies are trying to get copyright laws changed around the world. OpenAI, for instance, has admitted in court that if they have to pay for all the intellectual property they stole, they won't be able to make any money.

Real artists are being hurt, badly, by generative AI trained unethically and illegally on their work.
