Im trying to start drawing again.

Last edited Fri May 24, 2019, 07:11 PM - Edit history (1)

This was done with a bic ink pen. It's not great, but it helped me express some of my "darkness".

It's a self drawing of me trying to write down my experiences while being attacked by my inner "demons" and insecurities.

Adding a pencil sketch from a few years ago of my son. This one brings me joy. This is where I want to be again soon...

I'm really self conscious and trying desperately to overcome alot of insecurities.

I have the attention span of a mosquito, so I bounce from project to project.

If I use pencil, I'll never finish because it's never good enough.

I've found that with ink, I can better find a stopping point and not get absorbed into perfection.

I would love a good, thick pad of paper and some proper ink pens. I'll try to post some of my earlier drawings later.

I've given most of my artwork as gifts. Portrait drawings for family and friends. I should get copies of those for my son.

I've got so many things bottled up, but I'm slowly sharing these things with my DU family.

I know this site is anonymous, but I truly feel safe telling my stories here. Maybe that's why....easier to take rejection from strangers... And easier to accept friendships.

BTW:. I drank half that box of wine last night and fell asleep on my porch swing lol. I sooo needed a brain break!

9. Artistic therapy is an excellent practice

Brings everything out and gives you practice in your style, method and medium of expression.

Your talent is always there because you’re born with it. But technique is always a work in progress.

I love to paint and am highly influenced by the impressionists, but I draw portraits with pencil or charcoal in a pretty realistic style. Recently I worked with prismacolor pencils on a series of food still life’s because I wanted to learn to blend color pencils. I’m pretty happy with them.

When I did what you’re doing, tackling my demons, it was the best therapy I could have had. You’ll do fine!

I love trying to bring out that "something" that makes the person special.

I think I'm going to practice more with ink in order to be better at pencil art.

Ive always been the strange kid carrying a notebook wherever I go... Writing and art have helped me cope with so many things in my life.

I'm gonna try to upload a pencil drawing of my son that I did about 6 years ago.

(I sent this to my sister and she told me to go back to therapy.... )

I find it so soothing to while away a few hours just painting. I don’t believe I have your intrinsic talent, but like doing it especially during all this chaos.

Keep it up and keep sharing!

I always seem to make a mess with it, and its so tedious because my hands shake (MS)

I'm so angry and sad and just pissed off. It feels like we're at war with crazy people who want to either control us, or get rid of us.

I wrote a poem that I think is in my journal called The Angel. It's how I feel put into words.

It was about a young Dr diagnosed with MS about 19 years ago. After doing research she started a strict Whole Foods (no processed foods) plant based diet. She went from crutches, unable to do any exercise or even dance to hiking and marathons. After all these years she went from like 16 visible marks (sorry I don’t know the correct medical term) to just a couple of leftover scars on her MRIs.

If you are interested, another google search to do is Dr. McDougall and MS. He has had great success with his MS patients as well. Apparently all autoimmune diseases can be man aged (not cured) with super strict plant based diet. I even have a friend who reversed 5 or 6 palatable lymphoma tumors by following this eating lifestyle.

DM me if you want to talk about it,

MLAA
