They are hard to catch in the lens. Got a few pics of him flying, but when I try to get close, he's off.

We see them here quite often as we're two blocks from KVI Beach here on Vashon Island.

But patience and a steady hand are more important than talent when you're trying to paint an accurate representation from a photo. Talent shows when you can create something that's beyond the photo, but I'm doing bird paintings to learn about birds and how they're put together. I'm not sure it's really even art.
