You should look yours up on ebay to see if any of them might be worth something. If you strike out, I'd call around to used bookstores and see if they want to make an offer on what you've got.

http://www.abebooks.com

That's the site that professional sellers of used and rare books use. Actually, you could even register there and sell them -- depending on how much stuff you've got.

When checking values, pay attention to edition and printing. Many books have multiple printings; value varies considerably.

Best of luck!

As a casual seller there is no charge to list a book...you only pay a fee when it is sold. Book sites like www.abe.com or www.alibris.com charge a fee to sign up and start listing plus a percentage when it sells. Unless you have a lot of books the fees will eat up your profit. They are good resources to check the value of the book first.

My brother is a pro at it - made over $30,000 last year selling used books, DVDs, etc. He scours yard sales, flea markets and Goodwill Stores weekly for his inventory.

As you suggested, brer cat, even the casual seller can make money. For about 6 months I made around $50. a month selling off my CD inventory.
