Shoes are the new eggs, and cleaning up eBay scammers from 2024

Bought a pair of shoes, seller shipped me a baseball cap. So the scam is one of: 1) padding the bottom line, 2024; 2) creating tax write-offs, 2025; 3) seller woke up to the fact he can likely sell them for far more

because ............ SHOES are the new EGGS!

Went into a national discount shoe retailer yesterday. Nike Air Monarch 4's are going for $80 and $90 a pair. Nike is having problems. Poor sales, low earnings. So they have to make up the difference somewhere.

Weekly Reader had a story about how much things cost in russia and how scarce products were. At the time, maybe 1963, shoes were $300 and grocery shelves were empty.
I can't help thinking that rwnj are bringing the worst of russia to the US. What a shame.

The U.S.S.R. was a grift off the state and the people. The elites were political, rather than oligarchs. The U.S.S.R. political elites rode in limousines and lived in dachau palaces paid for by the State. Let's not forget the State was sold off to the oligarchs. In some cases they were the same people.
