Good morning my DU family,

Happy Cinco de Mayo.

I had a wonderfully cute thing happen to me yesterday that reminded me of how special a moment can become, despite any intent otherwise lol.

Rory's granddaughter sent me two photos minutes into the start of my trip to return home after his memorial service. (I'm still not ready to write about that yet).
The first picture was that of her and her adorable Chihuahua Taxi, as the face of two flowers, the second, Taxi sitting in the passenger seat looking like all those cute dogs we see in cats next to us all the time.

I was so moved by her gesture, how sweet it was to tell me that they were coming along in Spirit, and I could see them in any passing car, or in any passing flower.

The more I thought about it, the more touched I was. I called her in tears to thank her for such a heart felt gift, especially as tired as she knew me to be.

Needless to say, I was brought back to reality when she said that she sent them because they happened to be taken at a cute street parade, and upon further inspection, the picture of Taxi in the car was in fact in my car lol with me in the background.

What I got was a reminder of words I myself had spoken in exhorting everyone to reach out to the alone, to share more moments with those that can't get out or seem forgotten, and most of all, a reminder that it is never us that determines how special or poignant a gift is or was intended to be, when in fact, it's true impact will always be felt by the recipient.

The notion that what I intend with an offering is the limit of its effect, is yet another precious reminder that beauty and impact really are in the eye of the beholder.

Please give us a day filled with opportunities to give freely, and more importantly, to remember that the true meaning and magnificence of said gifts are entirely experienced by the receiver.

May I never interfere with that.

Have a wonderfully impactful day DU, and may your gifts find hearts.
Love, John
