Agree! I think Nicole's character is like that because she had to be the adult in the family. Just my take! Floyd R. Turbo Saturday #9

couldn't get through much of the first episode. It has a "TABLOID" love of naked corpses and the acting feels juvenile, DESPITE the fine cast.

(It has the stench of a "Ryan Murphy" show, whose "American Horror Story" grew more "tabloid-y" after its first season.)

I had high hopes for Scarpetta because I loved most of the books, so I'm disappointed. A waste of good actors BADLY directed.

was FLOORED by her performance in the series :The Beast". Now THAT was a superb series.

I find Nicole's overly smooth and rigid countenance distracting

Especially as she's gotten older, she seems too focused on her appearance and not so much on performance. She comes across as a woman who can't stop an ' inner runway awareness' of how she looks.

I used to think she was a great actress but now, I mean, expressions are a huge part of acting - too often she just looks, I dunno, stone-faced.

This, despite the fact that I'm not a big Nicole Kidman fan, and I think the serial killer/crime procedural genre has been done to bloody death.

It's crazy how often MS-NOW runs the trailers for this and Young Sherlock.

I’ve never read the books but the interactions between her and Marino were good TV. I just watched it as a regular viewer and thought it was really good. We were disappointed that it wasn’t shot in Richmond because that is, I’m told, a big part of the books. Apparently they shot it in Nashville- production companies pretty much just fish around for deals from state boards and will shoot anywhere.

My wife loved it but thought Kidman was a strange choice. I thought the young Scarpetta looked remarkably and distractingly like the WH spokesidiot Leavitt.

Jamie Lee was a hoot. My wife loved when they all cooked because that is also a big part of the books.

I watched the first 3 and my wife finished the season on Friday while she was at home teleworking.
