Finnish Food is Not What I expected - Travel Helsinki 2026

In this episode of What’s Good to Eat, I try a classic Finnish meat pie, warm up with creamy salmon soup, taste juniper-smoked elk (yes, elk), and for the full Finnish experience.... go to an ice hockey game!

Helsinki is the second stop on my mission to visit 100 destinations, and over 5 days I’m exploring 16 food spots to see what the happiest country in the world actually eats.

Let’s see what’s good to eat in Finland!

Places that I visited:

📌 Meat Pie at the Euromanga Cafe and Bakery
https://eromanga.fi/home/

📌 Salmon Soup at the Ekstrom's FishMongers at the Hakaniemi Market
https://hakaniemenkauppahalli.fi/en/

📌 Smoked Reindeer Tongue at Kosmos

📌 Snacks at the Ice Hockey Game

📌 Juniper Smoked Finnish Elk at Jason
