Disposal of auto-injector pens

Do you use auto-injector pens for administering meds to yourself? Without revealing what kind of medicine you use, can you tell me, please, how you dispose of your auto-pens? I can't find a pharmacy that will take them (which is a big surprise; I thought all pharmacies disposed of sharps).

One pharmacist offered me a small red box. When I explained why that wouldn't work, he didn't know what I was talking abut. I'm glad this was not my pharmacy.

1. I save my big dish washer liquid bottles the big thick green ones.

they will hold several months of the pens. Once its full I heavily duct tape it closed and then put it in the garbage.

2. Find places that collect expired drugs. CVS has them and in my area several sheriff stations

Awhile ago I asked on theses pages for disposing of Epi-Pen and this is what I did.

5. Check with your doctor's office

Chances are they have Sharps containers and might take them.

6. The needles are very small, tiny actually. Frankly, I just throw them in the trash.
